Adopt-a-Family Holiday Program

The Adopt-a-Family Holiday Program, facilitated by the Iowa Department of Human Services, offers individuals, families, businesses, and organizations the opportunity to support local families in need during the holiday season. By “adopting” a family, participants provide gifts and essentials to brighten the holidays for those experiencing hardships.

How It Works:

  1. Registration:
The program typically begins in October. Interested participants can contact the Volunteer Coordinator to learn more and sign up.
  2. Family Selection:
After registration, you’ll be matched with a family, receiving information such as the number of members and their ages to help you select appropriate gifts.
  3. Gift Purchase and Delivery:
Participants purchase gifts and either deliver them to designated drop-off points or directly to the family, depending on the program’s guidelines.

How to Get Involved:

📞 Phone: Contact the Volunteer Coordinator at 515-725-2743 for more details.

By joining the Adopt-a-Family Holiday Program, you can make a meaningful difference in the lives of Iowa families, spreading joy and hope during the holiday season. 🎄
